Yesterday morning Lawrence Police responded to an Auburn Street market for a report. The same store was robbed recently. Officers Robert Lakin and Officer Jose Nunez were the first Officers to arrive on scene, and informed other responding units that the suspect fled towards Cross St.
Lt Fabian Guerrero was able to gather further information from both the victim of yesterday’s incident and the victim of the previous robbery. Based on this information Lt. Guerrero determine that the suspect was same individual that perpetrated the previous robbery whose photo was posted on the Department’s social media pages.
Moments later Lt. Guerrero spotted an individual fitting the suspect’s description coming from the rear of a building on Cross Street. He took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was positively identified by witnesses. After being afforded his Miranda rights, the suspect confessed to both robberies.
